Chapter: 13. Directive Principles Of State Policy

Welfare state: A country where citizens are guaranteed a healthy standard of living, equal opportunities, full employment, and a fair distribution of wealth.
Directive Principles of State Policy: Guidelines which central, state, and local governments are expected to follow while making and implementing policies and programmes for the welfare of the people.
Living wage: A wage which will enable a person to buy basic necessities.
Justiciable: A term describing rights, such as Fundamental Rights, that allow citizens to go to a court of law to seek protection and enforcement if they are deprived of them.
Non-justiciable: A term describing guidelines, such as the Directive Principles, that do not allow citizens to go to a court of law to seek justice if they are not fulfilled or provided.
