The Add/Update Opportunity workflow action empowers you to either establish a new opportunity or modify an existing one within the chosen pipeline. By automating changes to opportunity status triggered by a workflow, this action eliminates the manual process of shifting contacts to new opportunities.
Edit Action
In Pipeline
To modify an action in your pipeline through the workflow, begin by selecting the pipeline where you intend to incorporate a contact.
In Pipeline Stage
Next, designate the stage within the pipeline where you wish to include the contact. This can be achieved by choosing the appropriate pipeline stage for your contact from the provided dropdown menu.
Opportunity Name
Specify the name for your Opportunity, which may be either the name or company name of the contact, depending on your preferences.
Opportunity Source
Provide the source for your opportunity, indicating where the contact entered the workflow, such as Call, Organic Lead, Facebook, Google, etc.
Lead Value
Input the lead value, reflecting the dollar amount associated with the product or service of interest to your client.
Status
Select the status to which you want to assign the contact: Open, won, lost, or abandoned.
Allow Opportunity to Move to Any Previous Stage In Pipeline
Activating the 'Allow Opportunity to Move to Any Previous Stage in Pipeline' option permits the contact to regress to any preceding stage in the pipeline. This feature adds flexibility to the workflow, enabling users to make adjustments based on the specific requirements of the opportunity.
Allow Duplicate Opportunities
Conversely, enabling the 'Allow Duplicate Opportunities' option proves beneficial in scenarios where a single contact needs to create or update multiple opportunities within the same pipeline. With this option, a new opportunity can be generated for a contact that already possesses an existing opportunity in the same pipeline, eliminating the necessity to create a new entry for the same contact.
