In the domain of workflow automation, handling numerous executions simultaneously poses a considerable challenge. This is where the Drip Action comes into play – a robust tool meticulously crafted to oversee and govern the progression of executions within a workflow.
What is Drip Action?
Drip Action is a strategic tool implemented to prevent or restrict the concurrent execution of multiple steps in a workflow. By establishing a batch size and specifying a drip interval, you gain precise control over the speed at which contacts navigate through the workflow.
Configuring Drip Action
Choose the “Drip” action within the workflow actions.
Batch Size
Specify the number of executions allowed per batch. (Range: Minimum of one, maximum of ten thousand per batch.)
Drip Interval
Establish the time interval for the drip action. Option for minutes, hours, or days, ranging from one minute to seven days.
Practical Example:-
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the Drip Action, consider a scenario where 10,000 contacts enter a workflow or 5,000 contacts progress from a wait step to the next. To prevent a surge in executions, implement the Drip Action with the following parameters:
Batch Size: Configure it to 50 contacts per batch.
Drip Interval: Set an interval of 10 minutes.
Result: This setup ensures that only 50 contacts advance to the next step every 10 minutes, effectively managing the pace of the workflow.
