Phone icon next to a phone # dials RingCentral

Overview

We want to enable a user to make a RingCentral call, in Salesforce (ie user doesn’t have to leave browser on their desktop computer).

Workarounds

The following work, but are not ideal.

Chrome extension

This turns the phone # into a RingCentral “phone or text” button when you hover over it.
But it opens in the RingCentral Desktop app, not directly in Salesforce

Manually searching

Users can search for Salesforce Leads in the RingCentral widget, and place the call directly from the widget without leaving Salesforce in their browser.
But this requires an extra/redundant step - since the user is already on the Salesforce Lead page.
