Salesforce - Communication options

Overview

We are in the early stages of scaling a new go to market strategy for our payments software service, SwipeSimple.
We’re in need of a single place where we can initiate and document communications with Contacts, as we get them to complete our Application for Financial Services. (Includes requests for more information, manual verification, etc.)

Problems we’re trying to solve

I think we might need to use Digital Engagement for this?
Way to see missed calls to a call queue, in Salesforce
A way for multiple users to see and action incoming SMS text messages (eg, a “text call queue”?) - and respond
^^ All connected to existing Salesforce records

About us

Today - we have RingCentral setup for outbound calls and texts, which works well from a Sales perspective, working Leads. But there is no sense (at least as far as we know) of a way to meet our goals above with our current setup.
