DIY measurements

Do you need to measure a property's small, segmented, or scattered areas? DIY Measurements lets you do it yourself quickly and accurately without relying on external tools like Google Earth. This feature consolidates all your property maps in one place, helping you streamline your workflow while keeping everything organized.
This tool allows you to fully control the measurement process for a few turf patches, mulch beds, or other specific property sections.
Let’s walk through how to use it.

Step-by-step instructions: To Create an Order and Perform DIY Measurements

1. Enter the Property Address

Input the property address as usual.
This will load the necessary imagery of the location.

2. Start Drawing Your Parcels

Begin by drawing the required parcels or sections directly on the map.
Confirm your parcel at this stage by selecting Confirm Parcel

3. Order Your Self Measurement Takeoff

After confirming your parcel, you will move to the next screen in the order placement process
Now, at this stage, ensure that you do not have any layers pre-selected
The system will recognize this as a DIY measurement session, assigning 0 hours for system calculations since measurements are manually created.
Select the Self Measure option to proceed with the takeoff

3. Add a New Layer

Click the + button to add a new layer and define the type of area you want to measure:
Example: Choose Turf for grass sections or Mulch Beds for garden beds.
Once selected, proceed to Add Layer to Map

4. Draw and Modify Areas

Use the Draw Tools to outline the specific area for the selected layer:
Select Polygon (or you may want to select Point for layers such as trees or fire hydrants)
Click around the area to create polygons that match the shape of the section.
Double-click to finish the drawing of each polygon.
Adjust the drawn sections as needed to ensure they accurately represent the property.

5. Add More Layers (If Needed)

To include additional property features, repeat the process:
Add a new layer.
Select the type of feature.
Use the Draw Tool to create polygons for those areas.

6. Finalize the Measurement

Review all layers to confirm accuracy.
Save the view when satisfied with the measurements.
Your order will be available as a Self Measured takeoff in your property dashboard
