Rebates will cover 50% of the installation cost up to a maximum of $1,400.
If the system cost is $2,000, the rebate will be $1,000
If the system costs $5,000, rebate will be $1,400.
Homeowners can also have an interest-free loan of the same value as the rebate.
If the rebate is $1,400, the interest-free loan will be $1,400.
If the rebate is $1,200, the interest-free loan will be $1,200.
Eligibility criteria
It is an existing property valued at under $3 million or a home under construction that will be valued at under $3 million at the time of completion.
The homeowners have a combined TAXABLE income of under $210,000.
If both husband and wife are the owners, both incomes combined must be under $210,000/year.
If only one person is listed as the owner, then just their income must be under $210,000/year.
The property has not had a solar panel (PV) system installed in the last ten years.
How to apply
To apply for the rebate, the customer must provide certain documents to prove they are eligible:
To prove they own the property & the property value is under $3M, the customer needs to provide a Rates Notice & it must show the Capital Improved Value (CIV)of the property.
To prove the homeowners earn less than $210,000/year, all homeowners listed on the Rates Notice must provide one of the following:
Tax Notice of Assessment
Centrelink Payment Summary
Centrelink Concession Cards
Statutory Declaration
Lastly, they must provide details from 2 forms of ID from the following options:
Driver’s licence
Medicare card
Australian passport
Australian birth certificate
Australian citizenship certificate
Foreign passport. This should be a foreign passport with a valid Australian Visa.
