Action items or summaries by topic.

What’d we decide in that meeting again? After a few days, it’s easy to forget the details of a previous meeting, and to recall what each team member said they would do. With Coda AI block, you can create summaries and pull out action items as a checklist, making it easy to hold each other accountable, and to dig back into important decisions. Also, if you are on another team, you use AI block’s summary to check if a specific topic was discussed, including those that impact your work.

If you have a table with one row per topic, you can add a column to extract action items as checkboxes, or to summarize the notes.
  • Press the add column button to add a blank column.
  • Choose the AI column type.
  • In your prompt, write something like “List action items from” and then select the @ (next to the fill button) to reference the notes or other column.
  • Choose Checkboxes as the type.

Summaries.

  • Press the add column button to add a blank column.
  • Choose the AI column type.
  • In your prompt, write something like “Summarize” and then select the @ (next to the fill button) to reference the notes or other column.

If your team takes notes on a table or a page, you can create an AI block to generate summaries or find action items. Summary.

It can be difficult to collect and learn trends across these insights, and often a tedious process. With Coda AI’s help, you can now quickly turn feedback into data, to help you make smart decisions, faster.

Using Coda AI to apply tags.

Using Packs, you can bring in data from sources like Zoom or Intercom, or create a form to submit feedback that gets populated into a table. Coda AI can then tag this feedback:
  • Press the add column button to add a blank column.
  • Choose the select list column type, and then add all of the relevant tags.
  • Choose the AI column type.
  • In your prompt, ask AI to tag any product feedback, and @ reference the column that contains the feedback.
Note: Now that you’ve applied tags, you can create a chart view of the table, making it easier to view trends.

Using Coda AI to summarize feedback.

At the row level, you can extract feature feedback from any notes, transcripts or submissions.
  • Choose the AI column type.
  • In your prompt, write something like “Summarize any product feedback found in” and then select the @ (next to the fill button) to reference the notes or other column.
  • Choose your desired length, tone and type.
You can also generate a summary of feedback found in a table or on a page.
  • Type “/”.
  • Select Summarize the most common feedback from. You can edit this prompt to say anything, such as “Summarize feedback on a new image editor feature”.
  • In your prompt, @ reference the table(s) or the page(s) that contain the feedback
  • Choose your desired length, tone, and type.

Draft and send customized emails.

With Coda AI, you can draft customized emails based on any criteria. If you connect the Gmail Pack, you can send from your doc.
  • Choose the AI column type.
  • In your prompt, write something like “create a sales email about a new image editor feature”.
  • Then us the @ (next to the fill button) to reference the recipient, their title, notes, or other columns.
  • Choose your desired length, tone and type.

Create a brief, quickly.

With Coda AI, you can create a brief based on other context in your doc—so you can get feedback faster.
  • In the canvas, type “/”.
  • Select one of the AI prompts. You can edit this prompt to say anything, such as “Create a brief for a new image editor feature using feedback from...”
  • In your prompt, @ reference the table(s) or the page(s) that contain the feedback
  • Choose your desired length, tone, and type.

Generate options, and then vote on them.

Coda AI can create a table of options that your team can upvote or downvote.
  • In the canvas, type “/”.
  • Select one of the AI prompts. Edit this prompt to say something like: “Make a table with 20 names for the new image editing tool on...”
