Healthcare for Traveling Abroad

Emergency Healthcare Abroad

The domestic coverage employees and their family are enrolled in with Sequoia is extended for use abroad only in emergency or acute care situations. Emergency care would generally mean your physical and/or mental health is in serious jeopardy, serious impairment to bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. Any services received abroad would be covered as out of network.

Travel Assist (aka Travel Aid)

It is a comprehensive program providing you with 24/7 emergency medical, security, and travel assistance (including emergency medical evacuation and repatriation) when you are outside your home country or 100 or more miles away from your permanent residence. Full details of service as well as any conditions and limitations are provided in the program description available upon request at TravelAid. It can be used for both personal and business as long as they are an active US employee. Please note, these are out of pocket costs. Option 1: GeoBlue GeoBlue is one of Sequoia’s preferred carriers for Global Mobility plans and has their Voyager product which should fit for most individuals.  Please note that the plan is not available in some states. Obtain a quote directly from the GeoBlue website: The site is very interactive and includes product brochures describing the Voyager Plans and costs in more detail. Option 2: Squaremouth uses a comparison engine that allows travelers to search, compare and purchase travel insurance online.
