“Did you know that The name ‘Trevi’ means ‘three-ways’ and is said to refer to the junction of three roads on Piazza dei Cruciferi. There was also a famous Goddess named Trivia. She protected the streets of Rome and had three heads so she could see everything going on around her. She would always stand on the corners where three streets met.”

📜 History: Designed by Salvi and completed by Pannini in 1762, the striking Trevi Fountain amazes onlookers with its 26.3-metre (86 ft) height and 49.15-metre (161.3 ft) width, making it the largest Baroque fountain in the city and the most famous one in the world. Several movies, including Roman Holiday and Fellini's La Dolce Vita, have contributed to its fame. In 2016, Fendi chose the fountain as the stage of one of its memorable shows ever, wherein a clear plexiglass runway stretched across the Trevi Fountain.
This is the perfect location to stop off and enjoy your lunch or a quick dinner, you can relax with the view of the Trevi Fountain. The fountain is one of the most famous landmark in Rome. Its origins date back to 1400 under the Pope Urban VIII which who wanted to built a fountain commissioned to Bernini. However due to the high cost, the fountain was at first put on hole then in was re designed and completed by Pannini.

💡Local Tips

Some useful tips before visiting Rome's iconic Trevi Fountain:
It's illegal to fish out coins from the fountain.
It's strictly forbidden to bathe in the fountain.

Details: If you are hungry, I suggest to have a little bite at the Antico Forno, a local "panoteca" where you will find bread, pizza, focaccia and all the street food to enjoy while strolling around.
