The city offers a wide cultural assets with royal palaces, castles, and ancient ruins that include some of Christianity's oldest frescoes. Among these you will find the city's Museo Archeologico Nazionale claims the world's finest collection of Pompeiian frescoes and mosaics, while its Cappella Sansevero holds Italy's most extraordinary marble sculpture. In Naples you will find the best pizza, pasta and coffee that Italy can offer, with lovely street markets, and local shops.During your evening, I suggest to enjoy a stroll in Spaccanapoli, the heart of the old city. The Spaccanapoli district extends from the Spanish Quarters and ends in Forcella. While walking around you will enjoy various shops, restaurant and local artisan activities as well as old architecture and churches.

Florence

Florentia, also literally "florid city", was the name given by the Romans to this settlement founded in the I century A.D. along the Arno river, at the foot of Fiesole, an Etruscan city whose ruins are visible on the hill which dominates the city. The flowering of Florence in art, culture and international trade began in the 13th century and it reached its peak in the 15th century under the reign of the Medici family, who ruled over the city for more than three centuries. Everywhere you turn in Florence, you find extraordinary works of art and architecture, which attract almost 8 million tourists every year—from the Palazzo Vecchio to the world-famous Uffizi Gallery to the Cathedral with its magnificent dome and the tower designed by Giotto. Along the river Arno, the Ponte Vecchio with its jewellery shops is a must for all those who pass through the city, as well as the splendid Boboli gardens across the river.

💡Local Tips & What to do in Florence

Santa Maria Novella: As start of the Florence day tour, I suggest to stop by a the magnificent Santa Maria Novella Basilica and its square located just in front the main railway station.
Street Food in Florence: I Fratellini is a local shop where you will find the perfect street food to enjoy while strolling around. I used to get their sandwiches which are always with a very good quality products. You can get a huge sandwich and a glass of wine for less than 10 Euro. The I Fratellini is a very famous place mostly known by locals and by some tourists which are curios because of the long queue!
Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral: The marvelous Battistero di San Giovanni is an octagonal plan church entirely covered with slabs of white and green Prato marble. Its roof is covered by a dome with eight segments forming like a pyramid shape which are connected to the perimeter walls.
Giotto's Bell Tower: Always in the Duomo square, you will be able to admire the amazing Giotto's Bell Tower which is one of the four principal monuments on the Piazza del Duomo.
Cappelle Medicee: The Cappelle Medicee is a lovely gem where you can admire the amazing frescoes and archtercutre. The Chapel was built with an octagonal dome very simple from outside but with outstanding interiors.
Ponte Vecchio: Ponte Vecchio is one of the most famous landmarks of the city. The bridge, which literally means "Old Bridge", was the only bridge across the Arno in Florence until 1218.
Piazzale Michelangelo: From here you will have a panoramic view over the city. The best time to reach this location is during the afternoon where you will enjoy beautiful views and warm colors.
