“Looking for a little sunshine and beach vibes here are some of our favourite spots”
Santa Marinella
If you’re in Rome and the weather turns hot, you might be surprised how easy it is to slip into the cool Mediterranean. Santa Marinella’s main beach is so close to the train station that all you have to do is follow the swimsuit-wearing crowd and you’ll find it, a small bay with perfectly clear water. In Italy there are two options (if you’re lucky) for enjoying the beach. there’s the stabilimento with its umbrellas and sun beds that must be rented for the afternoon. Stabilimenti sometimes offer a shower and a changing cabin too. Or second, there’s the public part of the beach where you can park your towel wherever you want on the sand
The train to Santa Marinella leaves from several of the train stations around Rome: Roma Termini, Ostiense, Trastevere, or San Pietro.
The Capocotta beach (also known as Capocotta's Cancelli beach ) is located between Ostia Lido and Torvaianica, with a large sector dedicated to naturist practice; the naturist Oasis of Capocotta was in fact one of the very first nudist Italian beaches to be recognized as such. This splendid beach, like the neighbouring beach of Castel Fusano, is characterized by a strip of sand dunes and Mediterranean maquis that extends from the coast up to about fifty meters from the shoreline, giving way to a wide strip of white sand and end.
Want to swim in crystal-clear water, visit a magnificent medieval castle and experience life in one of Italy’s charming seaside towns? All this is just 40 minutes from Rome’s bustling city center!
