Project: Saving and Applying to Jobs with Huntr

4 hours to complete
Although we believe in the sentiment of quality over quantity when applying to jobs, we’d like to challenge you in your first week of Career Services to push yourself by discovering ten open positions that interest you and applying to one of them. Getting just one application submitted, even if it's not your dream job, can trigger a dopamine release and feel very rewarding. Trust us! We’ve been where you are now.
This project should be completed using . At this point, you should have your account set up and be ready to start saving job opportunities. If you haven’t already, check out the previous how-to guide on how to use Huntr for job tracking.
When reviewing job postings, pay attention to the location, seniority level, and check to make sure you meet 70-80% of the qualifications. Huntr allows users to save jobs from large job sites like Indeed and LinkedIn to small startup career pages. Here are links to those:
Don’t limit your job search to these platforms. You can also go onto the sites of companies in your region or ones you’ve had your eye on in order to build your Huntr wishlist.
As a last piece of advice, we’d like to remind you that striving for absolute perfection can hold you back from achieving your goals. Yes, you should triple-check your resume, cover letter, portfolio, and application answers to ensure they are free of typos and grammatical errors, but don’t allow yourself to endlessly worry and iterate on these materials. Get those applications in on time and network your way forward.

Deliverable 1:

Add Ten Jobs To Your Huntr Job Board And Apply to One

Find at least ten jobs you wish to apply to and add them to your Huntr job board. Then, take the time to complete one application and submit it. To prove completion of these two tasks, submit a screenshot of your job board showing the Wishlist column with 9 job postings and the Applied column with the one you applied to.
