Project: Design Your Business Cards

2 hours to complete
While your new job in design will likely be on the digital side, networking in person requires some sort of physical connection. A great way for people to remember you easily is through business cards.
Before designing your personal business card, research printers and their document specifications. MOO and Vistaprint are just a few of the great print companies out there that provide quality business cards. Once you select a provider, review their guidelines. Most will have a business card template for download so that you may customize it to your liking before uploading.
For inspiration, you should take time to review these examples on CreativeBloq, Canva, and Designspiration. You'll want to try and make your cards as unique as possible to stand out in the crowd. Consider the information you'll want to feature on your business cards. This should, at the very least, include your name, contact information, and a link to your portfolio. You can also add in a title for yourself, such as “UX Designer”, or possibly a short description of your newfound expertise in design.
When designing your business cards, be sure to follow the crop guides on the templates as well. This will make sure the information on the cards don't get cut off when it goes to print.

Deliverable 1:

Make Your Unique Business Cards

Select a provider to print your business cards. Download the template they provide for the cards you wish to print. Design your personal business cards using the template. Before sending off to print, share the design with your Career Coach for review and feedback. Once you've received approval, create an order so you have them ready for your first networking event.
