Project: Freelance Project

Freelancing is another way to continue building your skills, potentially earn some income, and add new projects to your portfolio. For the next few units, you will be tasked with finding a short freelance engagement and conducting work on the project.
Try the following tactics to find a freelance opportunity:
Talk to friends and family and see if you can identify any opportunities that way
Email or call local businesses to scout out chances to work with them
Look for online design competitions on sites like:
It’s up to you what kind of project to work on. Set expectations for yourself and for the client. If pay is involved, make sure to agree at the outset how much you will earn from completing the project.
This is your first opportunity to work with a real-life client on a project. Enjoy it—this is what you’ve been working for!

Deliverable 1:

Discover A Freelance Opportunity And Begin Work

Research and land a freelance opportunity with a local company, friend or family member, or complete an online design competition. Once you have determined the opportunity, begin setting expectations and an outline of the work that will be done. Submit all information about the project to your Career Coach for guidance and feedback.
