Check the display options for the formula. If you expect a decimal but only see an integer, you may need to adjust the formatting options.
If the options for formatting the formula result as a number do not appear, the result is not a number. Check if the formula produces a text string as any possible result, including a blank text string, and rewrite the formula so that the formula always produces a number.
If the calculated result shows a number that is slightly off, there may be a rounding issue. If your formula inputs are themselves formula fields, the calculations are performed on the complete formula result, not the rounded value displayed.
Percent fields are stored as decimals. When doing math with percent fields, treat them as decimals.
