That word is “Boundaries.”

In the busy-ness that is entrepreneurship, the term “boundaries” seems non-existent.

We say “yes” to everything but our spouse.

Yes to customer requests, “emergency” texts during dinner, new product launches, handling personnel issues, and taking weekend calls.

You can rationalize the reasons for lack of boundaries all you want but the bottom line is that you have FOMO. -Fear Of Missing Out.

Fear that if you don’t handle these business issues now, everything you’ve worked for will fall apart.

I’ve suffered the same fears. I’m a recovering people-pleaser myself and I’m here to tell you, it’s going to be ok if you say “no” once in a while.

In fact, you’ll soon find that it’s liberating and things get done without your involvement.

And your family? They’ll appreciate it more than you know.

The Christmas season is the perfect excuse to start practicing saying, “No” to those distractions that rob you from spending quality time with your family.
