Cat litter

The litter box is in the hallway towards the living room.

If either litter bin (square bin or round bin) is nearly full, tie off the inner bag, remove it and throw it in the trash outside. Line the bin with a new inner bag from the collection placed near the litter box.

Replace litter

You can disassemble the litter box in the hallway by lifting the clasps on the side and lifting off the top.

Take the scoop and bottom tray with the litter outside to the front of the building (don't forget to take the key too, otherwise you'll be locked out) along with the empty litter package we left there. Dispose of the litter along with the empty packaging into the dumpsters at the front of the building.

Scrape off any wet clumps of litter or cat refuse stuck to the tray with the scoop.

Take the tray and scoop back inside and use some water and all-purpose cleaner (eg: Mr. Clean) on them in the shower to rinse them and wipe them dry when done (our kitchen has Mr. Clean and/or paper towels if you need supplies).

Empty the contents of the litter mat in the garbage before returning it to the same spot.

Make sure the tray is fully dry and then return it to its spot atop the litter mat in the hallway. Fill the tray with 2/3rds of a bag of litter and reseal the bag. If needed, new bags of litter will be

next to the litter

Spread the litter evenly using the scoop, before putting the lid back on the litter box.

Make sure to clip the back in, and then close the clasps on the sides.

Lights

Living room lights and bedroom lights can be turned on/off by tapping the display

Recycling

Can/carton recycling is in the cabinet labelled “Tobi cabinet”. Paper recycling is in the cabinet between the dishwasher/stove.

Return these boxes here after emptying them in the containers outside.

Bedroom

The main bed we use is on a motorized platform.

Use the controller under the platform, near the door to raise/lower it.

Raise it to clean underneath the bed, lower it to access the bed to change & place linens. Be careful going up/down and watch your head below the bed area!

Do not use any wet cleaning materials on the tatami (straw material) on top of the bed platform or the area underneath the bed platform

Dry dust/vacuum the tatami after removing used sheets.

Check-in

We do not use duvet/inserts. When preparing the Kindred duvet, you may insert the grey blanket in the duvet cover

If the fitted sheet causes the trifold mattress (top bed platform) to fold up, use only a flat sheet.

Check-out

Our sheets are in the shelf in the bedroom with the label saying: “Host linens” (small shelf, 2nd from the right, at eye level)

Use only a flat sheet (no fitted sheet) on the mattress on top of the bed platform

Use the zippered pillowcases for the larger pillows

Use the grey sheet on the futon on the ground level

There is no duvet cover, just leave the blanket as is

Other

These are the 4 bowls meant for feeding the cat - the 3 smallest porcelain bowls in the house, and one with a paw print.

If one of them has food in it, leave it there after cleaning the area around it.

For the remaining bowls, after cleaning them place them on the “Tobi cabinet” at the kitchen entrance.
