Reach out immediately to let them know you are their primary counselor through their application process. They can come to you with questions and help as needed.
Schedule a Zoom call with the VP of Enrollment for the applicant and their parents if they want. You can either send them the GO calendar link, or offer to schedule it for them.
Invite them to Student Preview or a tour. Get them on the campus ASAP if they’ve never been here before
Check in weekly until they finish their application. The faster they complete the app, the better. But, students can tend to drag their feet once starting
Look out for their essay and video.When those are submitted, you should watch/read it ASAP and give them feedback if necessary.
Put their birthday in your calendar and a reminder to send them a card 3 days before. This is part of making each student feel seen and cared for
Try to schedule a hometown meeting if possible. Figure out if any current students are from the same place as the applicant, and propose a meet-up to the Admissions team. A hometown meeting is when a current student or alumni meets up with the prospective student in their hometown, this is a time for questions and hearing personal experience.
