Steps of the Application Process
Basic Information

Once they complete this, they will receive an email with a link to pay the application fee.
Additionally, after this first step students receive a weekly update on their application process showing what steps have or have not yet been completed.

Paying an application fee not only shows their personal investment into their application, but also shows initiative and propels them towards the next step.
to the Video Interview requirements and instructions.
Transcripts
To acquire transcripts, students must reach out to their school office, guidance counselor, or parent if homeschooled. They should ideally be emailed to
, but can also be sent by physical mail to The Institute at 401 Center St. Old Hickory, TN 37138
Official vs Unofficial transcripts
An official transcript is sent directly from their school to us; no third party between the two. An unofficial transcript is a personal copy sent by the student, lacking the formal validation to be an official transcript.
Unofficial transcripts suffice for the application if applying before the completion of their senior year.
Official transcripts are required for enrollment, but we receive those at the end of their senior year direct from their school as we need the whole year’s worth of scores
Transfer students only need to provide their transcript from their most recent place of education.
Test-Optional
We are a Test-Optional school which means it is not a requirement for students to send their standardized test scores such as the SAT or ACT. Students can submit them if they would like, but it is not a mandatory part of their application.
