Do you have any other majors? I’m interested in business, music, education, etc.
We don’t. Our approach is that the Bible is the most important thing to study, and the most helpful thing to study for bringing God’s light into any occupation. Our alumni do all sorts of things in business, music, etc. but they all spent their time soaking up the Word.
What if I don’t want to go to college for a full four years?
You could always try out our associates program - it’s a two year degree and it transfers to our bachelors if you want it to.
How hard is your school academically?
It’s pretty tough honestly. Our teachers really love the Scriptures and they’re going to push you to do your best. Don’t come here if you want it to be easy. We believe that God deserves our best. That’s not to say that everyone who comes here was excellent at school before they came, but often, when school is learning God’s Word, it starts to feel less like traditional school and more like worship.
Do I have to take the ACT/SAT to get in?
We highly recommend that you take it and send it to us so we can get a baseline view of your academics, but we do not require it. Like most colleges after COVID, we are still test optional.
How do I learn more about what you guys teach?
You can check out our website, follow us on Instagram, or look at our Youtube channel. All of those have videos and writing by our professors. Many of our teachers also teach at the Community Church for GOD, so you can check out their services on YouTube as well. You can also look through our Academic Catalog
Do you teach apologetics?
Not formally, no. Our main concern is you learning the Bible for yourself. We believe the best defense towards others is a live well lived following Jesus so we want to equip you to do that.
Do you have a seminary?
No seminary, but we do have a graduate program.
Do you offer ordination for pastoral ministry?
Not at this time. But we do provide theological training and the practical experience necessary to work at a church.
Are all of your staff believers?
Oh yeah, they are committed followers of Jesus. They are active in church, ministry, and missions alongside their teaching roles.
Do your students have to go to church?
Yes, we think it’s good for everyone to worship in a body of believers weekly, it’s a requirement on our students to do so.
Can I bring a car to campus?
Please do! Nashville is not the best city for public transport and your experience will be MUCH EASIER with a car.
Why should I go to your school rather than one of these other ones?
Answer genuinely from your experience, but here are some of our key points.
At our school, you’ll get three big things I don’t think you’ll find anywhere else, at least in this combination:
You’ll come to a deeper understanding of your identity in Christ
You’ll gain a community of friends who are learning the Bible beside you
You’ll graduate with a clear idea of what you want to do occupationally, the experience necessary to do it, without debt, and with a job offer.
Does every student have to become a missionary?
Nope. But the more you learn God’s Word, the more you’ll begin to see God’s heart for the world. Our mission experiences will get you an experience with the poor that will change your life and give you a global perspective, which is helpful no matter what you do.
What’s the point of studying, when there’s a world in need right now?
How do you know your help is the kind of help God wants you to give, if you haven’t studied? What skills do you have to help that world in need? A “warm body” on the ground is not as helpful as someone with clarity of vision and a developed skill set.
Matthew 7:21 ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord”, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?” 23 Then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.”
