Polarity Management

Interdependent Polarities are indestructible systems and are at the heart of ongoing debates.
Choosing either side and excluding the other will become destructive.
When both to work together they will become generative.
The positive qualities of one side tend to solve the problems of the other side.
Interdependent polarities can't be solved, only managed and harnessed.
Step 1. Identify a chronic conflict that is leading to polarization. (Hint: An "interdependent polarity" is distinct from a "problem to solve." An interdependent polarity is about a complex issue that needs inclusion and consideration of both positions. It is unsolvable insofar as it can't be concluded by making a single choice. The two sides of the polarity give each other meaning and cannot stand alone.)
Step 2. Identify the question that both sides of the conflict are trying to answer? What is the shared goal? (Hint 1: Try to frame the debate using uncontroversial language that everyone involved would agree with. Hint 2: It may be necessary to zoom out and expand the context in order to find a question that everyone agrees is important to answer.)
Step 3. Identify both sides or positions of the polarized conflict using uncontroversial language. (Hint: Consider how each side of the polarity would describe themselves. Choose names that are either neutral or positive, and never a negative version of the value.)
Step 4. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of each position.
What are the best aspects of taking this approach? What positive outcomes can come from using this approach?)
(Hint 1: The strengths of each position tend to address the risks and downsides of the opposing position.
What are the downsides of taking this approach? What are the dangers, risks and challenges of taking this approach to the extreme? What is the other side afraid of?)
Hint 2: The weaknesses of each position are most easy to identify when the position is taken to an extreme or at the exclusion of the other position.)
