Summary

Twitter is a social media platform that allows users to post short messages, called tweets, of up to 140 characters. It's a great way to connect with your customers and build your brand.
Twitter has become a powerful tool for creators. They can use it to have direct conversations with their followers, share exclusive behind-the-scenes content and interact with other creators and brands.

Types of Twitter Content

Twitter text post

The most basic way to tweet, simply write what you have to say and share! While originally limited to 140 characters per tweet, twitter has doubled this limit to 280.

Twitter Thread

Is 280 characters not enough to eloquently phrase your thoughts? Create a twitter thread. Threads are basically multiple 280 character twitter posts, tied or linked together in the news feed so users know it’s a continuation of the same conversation or thought.

Twitter photo post

Generally speaking, photo posts see much higher engagement than text posts. An eye-catching photo (or illustration or infographic) is a great way to catch the attention of a potential customer scrolling through their news feed.
Particularly for product-focused businesses, photos that show the goods in action can be really effective.
And don’t worry if you aren’t a professional photographer — or are selling something difficult to capture in an image: stock photos can be a life saver. You can find free stock photography at sites like and .

Twitter video post

Video posts are the highest priority for social media platforms, so they see even higher engagement rates than photo posts do. Whether it’s for a short-and-sweet video announcement or a longer, artfully shot vid with a narrative, video can be incredibly compelling.
On Twitter, video plays automatically in the news feed, so you’re all but guaranteed to catch users’ attention. It’s the perfect trap! You can pique even more interest and command more attention to your videos by adding captions. So even if a video automatically starts auto-playing on silent, the user has more than enough context.

Livestreaming on Twitter

While it’s not an often publicized feature, you can actually go live from Twitter just like Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. You have two options to access the Twitter livestreaming feature:
Your livestream will go live as a published tweet and will live on your homepage and in the newsfeed of your followers. Anyone can like your stream or press play to start watching. Livestreams can be saved as full length videos to your camera roll or hard drive.
