Clubhouse

Summary

Clubhouse is a place for casual, drop-in audio chats. When you open the app you'll see "rooms" full of people talking, and have the opportunity to explore different conversations.
It’s a place to meet with friends and new people around the world—to tell stories, ask questions, debate, learn, and have impromptu conversations on thousands of different topics.

Clubhouse Features

Rooms

Welcome rooms are similar to closed rooms. They are private rooms meant for new member orientation.

Open rooms. Anyone can join an Open Room. They're popular for hosting public conversations, shows, or meeting lots of new people. This is the default setting for rooms on Clubhouse.

Closed rooms are for if you want to talk only with specific people, create a closed (aka private) room. You then have the option to ping people to invite them to the room.

Club rooms (NEW!) You can open a room within a Club so that Club members can join you to discuss relevant topics. You can always open the room to anyone on Clubhouse, which is a great way to expand club membership.

Clubs

Clubs are a special feature on Clubhouse that let multiple people come together to schedule and host chats. Your Club can have its own name and icon, along with a list of topics and set of rules.
You can think of Clubhouse’s “Clubs” feature as an equivalent to Facebook’s “Groups”.

Houses

Houses are like an always-on dinner party, where you can hang out with friends, meet new ones and talk about anything. We built houses to make it easier for people to make new friends through their existing friend groups in a more intimate setting. In these Houses, there can be any number of live conversations happening at once and there is a central chat feature for everyone in the House.
In a House, any member can start a conversation, join one, or message with other members of the house. Every house has a private hallway, so members can create many rooms and jump between them!

Who are Houses for? Houses are for your friends, their friends, and other like-minded people. This invite-only gathering space allows you to connect with this extended network of friends in a more intimate setting.
How are Houses different from Clubs? Here’s a simple breakdown of what you can expect in a House vs Clubs:
Houses:
‣ Live Conversations Only (No Replays)
‣ No Events
‣ Member Only Rooms
Clubs:
‣ Replays
‣ Events
‣ Public + Member Only Rooms
Why should I create a House over a Club? Houses are for many people to talk with each other in a group, while Clubs are better for creators broadcasting to an audience.

Replays

If you speak in a room where the creator has enabled Replays, you'll see it on your profile page minutes after the room has ended. If the room is associated with a Club, you'll also see the Replay on the Club page so that your club members can view past club Replays.
Replays support rooms up to 12 hours. Replays will not be available for longer rooms. You will receive a notification alerting you when your Room is approaching the maximum time.
