Defining Impact
Outcome
Cultivate Spiritual Grounding and Resilience
Deepening Belonging between our community members of all ages and stages
Integration of newcomers
Unleash us as Agents of Courageous Love (in our neighborhoods, in NOCO & Beyond)
When we rolled out the circles they were designed upon the principle of maximizing our capacity to respond to the direct needs of individuals in the impending wave of COVID. Living in this new reality has awaken a new truth: we will be living in a COVID world for a long time and our structures need to adapt.
Our best guess as a church is that something akin to the circles (micro-communities) that incarnate/embody our mission of unleashing courageous love in a localized manner is HOW we will be able to not just get by as a church but thrive.
However we cannot fully communicate this because the work of re-envisioning the circles to adapt to this new core operating mission is essential for people to buy into the vision going forward.
Vision Process
We are imagining a visioning process that allows for stakeholders within the church to playfully, creatively and dynamically wrestle with our design question AND THEN be invited with other groups who have wrestled with it for cross pollination and mutual discovery.
Ex. Youth Group and Elders group meet on zoom individually and work through a design process (think visioning session meets design charettes ) THEN a few days later they all meet on zoom, present their discoveries and work together on the next phase of creation.
Next Steps
Beth, Diana, Jenn have stepped up to design the core ‘process’ that people will engage in (Mary, Teri you are welcome to join as you discern). Once this is done we will engage circle leaders as our first stakeholders and roll out to other groups.
