Prom Dresses
Notable Developments
TOP KEYWORDS: For your /prom-dresses/ main page, organic traffic totaled 18k over the last month, with the main keywords, “prom dress” and “prom dresses,” maintaining relatively high rankings, holding steady at #2 & #4, respectively. While the data is overall positive, it's important to highlight a period during which specific prom-related keywords experienced unusual turbulence (the green rectangle area) following the prom season. We will be monitoring the progress over the next few months. Prom dress (currently ranked #2) Prom dresses (currently ranked #4)
MONTH OVER MONTH: In the 28-day vs. 28-day comparison, most Prom pages showed an increase in clicks despite being out of season, indicating solid stability of the pages in terms of their average ranking positions.
3 MONTH VS 3 MONTH: Still, in the 3 Months vs. 3 Months view, many pages saw a decline in clicks, due to the huge drops in user search.
YEAR OVER YEAR: When we compare organic traffic from the past three months to the same period last year, we observe significant gains. Moreover, the traffic follows a similar pattern. INTERNATIONAL CHANGE: It is also worth noting the significantly stronger prom season in organic traffic generated from UK keyword rankings (shown below, covering the last two years).
COMPETITOR ANALYSIS: Towards the end of prom season, we noticed two pages from the same domain (promgirl.com) climbing the rankings to secure top spots on the first page of results for both main keywords. Here’s how the rankings have evolved over the past few months: Our team is spending more time analyzing this, while also exploring the potential of targeting pages with different price points. NEW PAGES: The new pages we created have shown organic success, with one performing better than the other. However, considering their age, this is already a positive outcome. Allowing them time to mature before the next prom season will likely put them in an even stronger position. Interestingly, your main Prom Dresses page is at times outranking the dedicated page, giving you the benefit of double serving in the SERPs. And here is how the main keywords performed at the end of this reporting period (independent of page). These have declined from their post-launch positions, but remain high in the SERPs.
