We will have 2 crews that travel to Big South Fork together on Friday, and will each hike the same trail on Saturday. Both crews will camp in nearby sites on Saturday night, and will finish at the same time and travel back together on Sunday.
Crews will hike a total of 5 miles (3 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday), followed by a mile or two to see the Twin Arches. Both crews will be hiking around the Honey Creek Loop, a fantastic loop with some amazing rock formations that wind along the creek, some technical bouldering, caves/rock houses, waterfalls, and big overlooks. There are a lot of neat campsites in the area where we’ll be spending Saturday night, and there should be abundant water sources.
We will leave Franklin Friday afternoon, and make the drive up to Big South Fork. We’ll spend the night in the Bandy Creek Campground. Saturday morning we’ll break camp and drive a few miles to the Honey Creek trail head for our hike.
Due to registration numbers we are combining both trips into a single trip based on the beginner+intermediate trip, and will split into 2 different crews.
