🛺 Ho‘ohana Whoo Pedicab Driver Onboarding Process

✨ STEP 1: Obtain Chauffeur's Permit & Background Check
Driver Requirements (before applying):
Have a valid state-issued driver’s license Must apply for and receive a Chauffeur’s Permit from the city Submit to and pass a City-Approved Background Check 📍 Direct them to the city website or local office for:
Fingerprinting or background submission info Cost of processing + where to pay 📎 Include a QR code or short link to the city’s chauffeur permit instructions
📝 STEP 2: Fill Out the Ho‘ohana Whoo Application
Once the driver has initiated their permit process (or already has one), they must:
Scan the QR Code to access the Ho‘ohana Whoo Driver Application Form Chauffeur’s permit (or receipt if pending) Recent photo for their app profile Optional: Proof of vehicle ownership (if they have their own cab) 💡 Tip: Use Google Forms or Coda for the application form and link a QR code to it.
🔐 STEP 3: Send Log-In Code + Access to Driver Portal
Once the application is reviewed:
Send a personalized log-in code to the driver’s email/text Include a welcome message and driver handbook (optional PDF or video) Add their profile to the dispatch/ride-tracking system (like TaxiCaller) 📲 STEP 4: App Setup for Driver + Customer Access
Provide instructions to download the Ho‘ohana Whoo Driver App Send a QR code to the app download link (Apple Store/Google Play) Include setup instructions (log-in, location access, notifications) Send them a second QR code to encourage riders to download the Customer Ride App This allows drivers to help customers book rides directly from their phones 📢 STEP 5: Active Engagement + Ride Promotion
Once the driver is fully signed on:
Begin in-person outreach:
Stephanie or designated team members walk around and ask: “Hey, would you like a pedicab ride? We have an app now!” Share the Customer App QR code on cards or signs Help potential riders download and book directly Encourage new drivers to do the same — build a culture of driver-led promotion 🛠️ STEP 6: Ongoing Support & Check-Ins
