Define Your Mission, Vision, and Values

In Traction, Gino Wickman introduces the Vision/Traction Organization (V/TO) (which can be ). In Wickman’s explanation, vision is an organizational itinerary: It clearly defines what an organization is, where it’s going, and how it’s going to get there. His V/TO tool is designed to get all members of the leadership team onto the same page with regard to the company’s vision. To do that, Wickman offers eight questions that, once everyone on the team can agree upon, provides a clear vision. The questions are:
1. What are your core values?
2. What is your core focus?
3. What is your 10-year target?
4. What is your marketing strategy?
5. What is your three-year picture?
6. What is your one-year plan?
7. What are your quarterly Rocks?
8. What are your issues?
