It might not seem like it, but you already have access to hundreds (if not thousands) of potential group members.
They’re hiding in plain sight:
Phone contacts
Facebook friends
Instagram followers
Twitter Followers
LinkedIn Connections
Email Contacts
People who liked/commented on your social posts
All of these people are leads, waiting to notified about your community.
So, scroll through these lists of people, and invite everyone who fits your defined avatar. Don’t overthink this step — if you don’t know what to say, try something like:
"I'm making this awesome group for [avatar]s like you. The first few members are being let in free as ‘founding members’, and when I was trying to work out who to invite, you came to mind. It looks pretty empty right now, but its going to be amazing. I’ll send you the link so you can check it out.”
A word of warning:
This is going to feel scary. It’s going to seem like you’re not ready. But if you’ve followed the steps so far, then this fear is a sign that you’re on the right track.
Trust me: the more people you invite, the less scary this becomes.
Stop what you’re doing right now, and invite 3-5 people from your existing network to join your group.
Rip the band-aid off. Get the hardest ones out of the way. Because once you learn to overcome this fear, the whole world opens up to you.
And once you’ve done that, you’re ready for the next level of lead generation:
