The internet is huge.
Chances are, there’s a whole group of people out there who’d love to join your community. It’s just a matter of finding them…
But what happens once you’ve exhausted your contacts? How do you find more people to continue growing your community?
This is the job of cold outreach: reaching out to people who don’t know you (as opposed to “warm” outreach from the last module).
Put simply, you’re going to find people online who fit your avatar, and invite them to join.
Again, don’t overthink this. Create a simple message template along the lines of:
“Hey [name], I noticed you’re interested in [topic], so I thought I’d invite you to join a new community of [avatar]s — it’s free at the moment, but it’ll switch to paid soon. Let me know if you have any questions!”
This kind of message gives you two benefits
It prompts the recipient to join your group Their questions give you free market feedback, helping to refine your offer and better understand your avatar’s pain points
Send this kind of message out to as many people as you can, via DMs, email, text, or any other channel you can find.
