Tips on Building a Website & Registry

BUILDING A WEDDING WEBSITE
A wedding website is a great way to simplify the planning, documentation, and information-sharing processes. With everything consolidated into one digital platform, getting essential details to your guests and ensuring everyone has all the info they need will be simple.
Though creating a wedding website does add another line item to your already long wedding to-do list, the pros of having one far outweigh the cons.
All your event information will be stored in one place for your guests to go back and look at many months before the wedding.
You can digitally collect and manage RSVPs.
You can have your registry link on your website.
Consider these tips while building your website:
Think about the content you want to share with your guests. Your website should include event itineraries, travel info for any out-of-town guests, accommodations, registry, RSVPs, and dress codes.
Personalize your website to make it feel intimate and as personal as possible. Add your engagement photos or photos throughout your relationship. Use your chosen color scheme to make your website more visually appealing and cohesive.
Make it mobile-friendly so your guests can access the info on the go. This will make it easy for guests to get the information they need when they need it during your wedding weekend.
Explain unique traditions if you plan on incorporating any. It’s always helpful to allow guests to debrief beforehand.
Include info about your relationship, like explaining how you met or highlighting key moments that led up to the wedding. This is also a great place to introduce your wedding party.
Don’t write too much. Break the information into bite-sized sections that are easy to read and identify.
STARTING YOUR REGISTRY
Building a registry is one of the most delightful aspects of wedding planning - dreaming of desired gifts and plans to share with your spouse-to-be! Fortunately, the options are endless, and recent developments in online registries make the process more accessible than ever. Here are a few tips to consider when starting your registry:
Set up your registry as soon as possible, especially if you plan to host an engagement party or bridal shower. Once you’ve had time to celebrate your engagement and let the news sink in, it’s time to start the registry process.
Include your partner in the decisions. Consider your wants, needs, and goals as a couple. Do you have a new home in need of furnishing? Are you planning a bucket list vacation?
Use your notes from the previous step to choose your wedding registries. For most couples, we recommend 2-4 registries and ensuring that at least one is a large retailer like Target, Crate & Barrel, or Amazon. Zola and The Knot are also great options for a more streamlined registry.
Give your guests plenty of choices at different price points, and be sure there are more items you’ve registered for than guests.
Make sure your guests know how to find your registry. While it’s not appropriate to put it on your wedding invitation, you can include a registry card in the envelope. The most common method is to add your registries to your wedding website.
