How to Hire a Pangean

Step 1 Create an Account

Creating an account via our web or mobile app is free and easy. At this time the web app is most useful for clients on Pangea, but we’ll be working towards bringing our hiring features to mobile soon - stay tuned!

Your Profile

Treat your personal Pangea profile the same way you would treat your LinkedIn Profile. Pro-tip: Open your LinkedIn in another tab so you can easily copy and paste your headline and about me from there. We ask that you complete a personal profile because this helps make your job listing stand out. Pangeans want to know who they’ll be working with.

Your Company Profile

If you have a business you can feel free to add the logo and company information here. Most NDP authors use information about their book to create their company profile, which is perfectly fine!

Step 2 Posting a job

With zero upfront cost or commitment, posting on Pangea is a piece of cake. We have a handful of built-in templates to help make posting a job easy. Below you can see several job posts NDP authors have made in the past for inspiration.

The Interview Call

The interview between you and your PA should be done on a video call (i.e., Zoom). Pro-tip: you should record every call and consider transcribing using to help alleviate the need for taking notes. This call could be anywhere from 15 - 20 minutes.
The tips below are just suggestions you can run the interview as you see fit:
On the call:
Take 5-7 minutes for you to introduce yourself and for the PA to do the same.
At a natural transition in the conversation, the PA should ask some basic questions to align on your goals and expectations. You can help guide this conversation along by stating your answers to the questions below:
What are you looking for in a PA?
In a PA I am looking for...
Are there any additional tasks outside of the ones outlined in your job description that you are looking for assistance with?
Which task would you like me to make my top priority?
As the PA gets the info they need, you may find yourself asking follow up questions, such as...
How can I be a great author for you to work with and make this a productive, useful experience for the both of us?
Who are previous creators you have worked with/are there similar projects you’ve worked on Pangea?
What social platforms do you feel most comfortable on?

After the Interview

Once you’ve found the Pangean for you, it’s time to send an offer. With no limit on how many Pangeans you can hire, you can even build yourself a little team of freelancers with specialized skills.
When your job post closes, anyone you did not hire will see their application status go to “no offer”, so there isn’t a need for you to follow up with everyone that applied. However, if you did speak with someone we do recommend sending them a message to confirm you won’t be moving forward with their application.

Step 4 Start working together

Pangea’s not just a place to make a hire. We help track and monitor your engagements from beginning to end.
