Why email works

3 most common misunderstandings

“My travel coach has connections and is hooking me up with coaches.”
More often than not, your travel coach doesn’t have the connections he says he does.
Even if he has connections with 5 schools, that’s still not nearly enough to make a dent in your recruiting process.
If you’re banking on your travel coach placing you, you’re playing the lottery.
Keep in mind, he also has dozens (if not hundreds) of other players asking him to do the same. Numerically, it just doesn’t add up or make sense.
“Recruiting platforms have replaced email.”
Bluntly — no, they haven’t.
Every single coach that I’ve personally talked to — not an exaggeration — has said that they’ve tried recruiting platforms, and they don’t work...so they no longer really look at them.
Recruiting software is a great way to make players and parents feel like they’re making progress when they’re not. The only way to measure progress in the recruiting process is by the number of coaches who are actively recruiting you and talking to you.
“If I go to tournaments and showcases, then I’ll get noticed by coaches.”
We already covered this...but the only 2 types of players that coaches watch at tournaments?
1. Players they’ve already been in contact with and are aware of
2. Players who play a position that they are in DESPERATE need of
Your odds of earning a coach’s interest at a tournament or showcase simply by showing up and playing well are incredibly low. Again, if you bet on this, you’re playing the lottery.

So, why email?

Email solves these issues.
The only help you need from your travel coach is a positive recommendation when the college coach calls him (after you’ve already established a connection with the college coach yourself)
Recruiting platforms are the middle-man. Email allows you to establish a direct connection with coaches, and measure REAL results.
Email will make your tournaments and showcases 10x more effective

The goal of email: let your skills do the talking (via video)
