What to expect on a school visit and how to impress the coaches

General thoughts part 1

Most of the hard work is done

Be kind and respectful — these could be your future coaches and teammates

Know in advance that the players may check your social media upon arrival — so take down anything you don’t want them to see

Don’t brag about your accomplishments to the players — they don’t care

General thoughts part 2

Come prepared with questions — you are evaluating the school as much as they are evaluating you

Try to envision what it would be like to attend the school (walk through an entire day at the school in your mind) — can you picture it? Do you like what you see?

Pay attention to what the academic advisor says — academics are an important part of your college career

General thoughts part 3

Take note of the people you meet — do you like them? Do you like the team culture? Do you like the people you meet around town?

Don’t commit on the visit unless it’s your dream school of you’re completely out of time

ENJOY IT! This is a once in a lifetime experience. Don’t miss it.
