Lay the foundation
Figure out what you want
THINKING
you know what you want and
KNOWING
what you want are two different things.
There’s no sense in “succeeding” in the recruiting process if you end up with something you didn’t actually want.
As you gain information, your interests may shift and that’s okay.
Don’t eliminate schools you’ve never heard of (unfamiliar with).
Pursue different types of schools in case your interests change.
Deciding in JUCO...
Baseball school (MSU)
Academic school (UCONN)
Hybrid school (Baylor)
Took visits to these schools and was able to compare them and figure out what I really wanted.
Some questions to ask yourself...
What do I want out of my college experience?
Do I want to play serious, division one baseball or softball, or do I want to have fun in a more laid back environment?
Would I rather be a stud at a small division one school or play less for a powerhouse?
How important are strong academics to me?
Is location important to me?
Is there a specific conference that I have particular interest in?
Does the school have the major I’m interested in?
Does the school excite me?
Write down everything you want out of your college experience. We’ll use that to start targeting schools that can provide that experience to you.
Want to print your doc?
This is not the way.
