If I were to hand you 10 responses from college coaches, would you know what to do with them?
The email you should write in response...
The items you should include...
How often you should follow up with each coach...
If you do, bravo.
Most parents don’t have a clue.
And this is a problem because, well...
Follow ups are crucial to getting scholarships.
To understand why, we have to look at it from a college coach’s point of view.
At any given time, here’s what a college coach spends their time on:
Coaching the team
Meetings with the other coaches
School events
Personal life
Recruiting 10-30 players.
That’s quite a lot.
So if you expect a college coach to salivate over your kid — entirely unprompted — while they have a million other things on their to-do list...
You’re crazy.
And consider what it takes for a coach to recruit a player...
Lots of information.
So if you’re not following up with coaches, they have to find the information on their own.
That takes even more time.
Here’s my point: you’re asking too much of a college coach.
You need to make it easier for them to recruit your kid.
And the way you do that?
Follow ups.
I have a saying:
Follow up frequently, or forget scholarships.
You might say...
This is too intense.
This is too complex.
If a coach is interested, won’t it just work out?
Maybe.
But here at D1 Scholarship, we don’t settle for maybe.
We are unapologetically over-the-top about the scholarship process.
That’s how we get top 1% results for athletes.
The other 99% of parents & athletes?
We’re not a good fit for them.
But if you want to give your kid an unfair advantage in the recruiting process, the best possible chance to earn a scholarship to a school they love, and eliminate the fear of not knowing whether you’re doing the right things or not...
Then we can help you in 2 ways:
If you want something hands on — where we’re in the weeds with you — book a free consultation call.
If you want something hands off — where we just give you the strategy we use — then go here.
And if you’re not ready, or you’re in the 99%, all good.
We’ll continue providing better free material than everyone else’s paid material.
Next week, we’ll talk about showcases.
When there are hundreds of players in attendance, how do you stand out?
And how do you make sure the college coach isn’t in the bathroom when your kid’s turn is up?
It’s an art.
We’ll talk about it next week.
See you Monday.
Jack from D1 Scholarship
P.S. Yesterday, I added a module to our system that teaches parents how to set up a system that automates the process of sending hundreds of personalized emails.
It’s quite literally a cheat code.
And I’m stoked about it because NO ONE in the scholarship world is doing that.
So the primary system we use went from twelve comprehensive game plans to thirteen.
Lol — other recruits don’t stand a chance.
And that’s the way we like it.
See you Monday.
