Updated Map Icon Colors - icons change based on map display

(Please note that the icon sizes, and their positions on their respective maps shown in the screens below are for illustrative purposes only, and will not be applied to the final product)

Option A: Icon colors are constant for both map displays (current)

The colors used on the current map layer icons remain the same, even when users switch their map display from Topographical to Satellite view. The contrast between the map and the icons is strong enough in Topographical view; however, users may run into slight accessibility issues with the Satellite view due to weaker contrast between the map and icons. In the screens labelled “contrast check”, some icons fade into the Satellite view’s map. While the contrast won’t be egregiously bad for users with no visual impairments, many and recommend a strong contrast between icons and their backgrounds.

Option B: Icon colors invert based on map view

This option changes the icon colors whenever users switch from Topographical to Satellite view, creating a stronger contrast between map and icons, while keeping the icon colors distinct from one another.
The colors selected are all WCAG-compliant, and immediately visible at a glance.
