Birds of a Feather

Last Updated: 12/7/21
The Birds of a Feather session format presents an attendee with more than one session topic to choose. There are two components to the Birds of a Feather Session:
Parent Session:
The Parent Session is the high-level overview of what the session is. This is the session the attendee will navigate to, and once they are on that session’s page, they will see the Child Sessions.
Child Sessions:
The Child Sessions are the actual sessions that are grouped up under the Parent Session. These sessions need to be set to one of the aforementioned Session Formats in this guide (typically a Live Interactive format). When a user attends the session, they are actually attending one of these child sessions.
The best way to describe the usage of this session format is by giving an example of how it’s been used in prior events.
Example:
There are 3 different Live Interactive Zoom sessions being offered over various topics - Cooking, Traveling, and Sports, all being presented by celebrities.
The Parent Birds of a Feather Session would be some type of high level session title and abstract. Something like “Interact and Learn from a Celebrity”.
Then there would be 3 child sessions, one for each of the 3 topics - cooking, traveling, and sports. Each of these sessions would have their own titles/abstracts/speakers/etc. that pertain to that specific topic.
When the attendee launches the Parent Session “Interact and Learn from a Celebrity”, they’ll be presenting with the 3 specific sessions on that same page. Clicking into one of those child sessions will launch the actual session itself.
