A cross chapter collaboration event is a chance for two or more Splunk chapters to build a collaborative event!
Here’s how to do it:
Decide which chapter will be the Host Chapter
Create the event in the Host Chapter
When creating the Host event, select the event type
Optional: When creating RSVP types for your event, you can have people identify which chapter they’re coming from!
Example: a Cross Chapter Collaboration event hosted in Portugese by our Splunk Ambassadors in NY, NJ, and Connecticut.
3. Once the Host Chapter event is published, the Host Chapter Event Permalink will appear in the Event Editor in the “General Information” section, under the title:
4. Now, the other Chapters can create their events. When creating these events, select the same event type as the Host Chapter.
5. Under General Information, under Virtual Event Platform, select “External URL” and then input the Host Chapter Event Permalink under the Virtual Event URL
6. Now, there will be two or more events published: One Host Event, and one or more other events that point to the Host Event!
Things to keep in mind:
All RSVPs will be collected on the Host Chapter Event page
The regular Automated Emails will be scheduled as usual in the other Chapters - this way, your chapter members will be notified of the Collaborative event!
