Running Hiring Syncs

Have a clear and easy to follow agenda.

A hiring managers’ time is valuable, they have lots going on and hiring is one of the many things on their plate. Always prepare an agenda in advance, and for regular syncs you may want to consider having a standing agenda each week to maintain consistency.
Example:
High Level Pipeline Review (5 mins)
Talent Market Updates (5 mins)
Dory Agenda Topics (varies)
Late Stage/High Value Candidates in Pipeline (5-10 mins)
Note: Time boxing agenda items is essential to ensure that you stay on track and on time. It’s natural for some topics to deviate into longer discussions so be sure to incorporate some flexibility into the agenda.

Follow up action items are just as important.

Meetings can be incredibly productive as they’re an opportunity to get everyone involved together for discussion. Have a clear follow up plan and make sure whoever is leading the meeting ends with a clear summary of follow up action items, owners, and timeline for completion.

Include a data room.

Recruiting involves a lot of data and reporting, and all of which can be used in a variety of productive ways. At Coda, we use Greenhouse for applicant tracking. We have a Greenhouse Pack that integrates with Coda and syncs live updates. Use it to include tables and reports for roles, and refer to that data anytime.
All of these questions and more can be answered through a recruiting data room.
Want to see how many candidates are in the onsite stage for a particular role?
Curious how many days a role has been open?
Need to check on the latest status for a high value candidate?
