What is a Shared Ministry Covenant?

The Shared Ministry Covenant (SMC) articulates the scope, resourcing, and authorization for ministries enacted by groups within the congregation.
Its purpose is to align all our ministries towards the congregation's articulated bold vision and allow for coordination of resourcing and support from Foothills staff and volunteer leadership.

What is a covenant?

A covenant is a promise for how we are to work together to fulfill a purpose larger than ourselves.
While the process for Shared Ministry Covenant may seem simple or clinical — articulating answers to questions on a document— what it represents is a process of discernment, collaboration, and mutual support.

How does the process work?

Every new and existing group or ministry at Foothills must complete a Shared Ministry Covenant (SMC) at least annually
