An Overview of the Journey Ahead

There is no one "right" path to getting into product. The good news about product management is that great product managers can come from all different backgrounds...and many people even "accidentally" fall into a product role.
With that said, most product managers move through the stages below on their journey to product (these don't have to be exactly in this sequence; for example, some people end up getting moved into product in their current role, then go back and learn the basics). In the rest of this guide, I'm going to walk through each of these milestones for you, so you understand how to navigate the process.
