As a market town for the area Hexham had busy days in the Market Square. However, the crowd which assembled on Monday the 9th of March was not a normal occurrence.
Government officials arrived on Sunday and were here to hold a ballot to decide who in the area would be joining the local a.k.a. part time army. The officials were recently in Gateshead and there was trouble, 500 protestors prevented their ballot from happening!
