🔭 The ‘Fairer co-operative communities of the future’ Visioning process

Creating the central piece of visioning for the new strategy.
This is the central piece of visioning for the new strategy.
In order to put the new funds into practise this visioning piece will need to get commissioned and delivered in line with the strategy and is the key variable in this whole process.
Realistically aiming to have this done by the end of June to be put into practice in July is an achievable aim.
We would set clear expectation with whoever delivers this that the final visioning work will need to be done by June. In addition we would aim to have a ‘mid’project’ update that would set out the key themes that are emerging. This will enable us to:
Have some themes on which to to the fund design work
Enable Eden Stanley who are leading on a wider communication project to use this to develop their narrative and propositions for the Foundation

The idea would be for this to dovetail with when the will be completed to enable the new funds to be based on the vision of a future fair and co-operative community.
The ToR would include a clear steer to:
Be a positive, exciting and shared vision of future, fair communities built on co-operative values
Include a series of goals that would need to be achieved in order for those communities to exist and the most significant levers for systemic change
Provide a mid-point paper that would give us a clear steer about which goals/issues are emerging
Involve the voices of a diverse range of young people
Cover both rural and urban contexts
Leverages a range of online and offline platforms
Draw on the assets and existing work of the Co-op Group such as:
Young Co-op members, Co-op academy pupils
Yougov research on problems they are facing
Youth Summit that will create co-operative solutions to issues young people face
Peer Action Collective and their peer researchers

In order to do this the following tasks will be needed:

2
Develop a ToR
We will produce a draft, which can then be shared and built on by colleagues through a collaborative document. We will need to ensure it is built on work the Foundation and the Co-op group are already doing in this space

Interviews of shortlisted candidates and contracting
Following initial conversation with potential people we will set up some interviews with a selection of colleagues and SMT
