Designing our new funds collaboratively

The work would now take all the research done to date and move into a much more practical and collaborative design process to design funds that can be delivered under the new strategy.

This will be participative and collaborative process - looking to walk the walk of a ‘co-operative funder’ and design the funds in a co-operative way.

We will design the process so that it involves young people, those with lived experience of some of the issues we might work on and those who would be at the other end of our funding processes. We would design it around them.

The process would follow and ideation and iteration journey, using the practical research from the previous stage to inform an inspire us.

We would do this through:

A series of 3 design workshops to analyse the research, and to then ideate and create potential new funds.

These would then be written up into ‘prototype’ funds which we will iterate and develop with colleagues, funded partners and young people

We will take the ideas from the design sessions and turn these into shareable prototypes

We will do some in depth interviews with people to get their views on the prototypes and ideas on how to improve them

We will set up a survey that will provide an accessible and clear way for people to feed back and iterate the protoypes

We will then take all the feedback and turn that into an operational plan to deliver new funds. These will be ready to them ‘plug into’ the ‘fairer cooperative communities of the future’ research to bring them to life
