SI Treatment Requirements


DEV REQUIREMENTS 31st Oct 2023:
WITHOUT SCRIPT I • Logline • A short (approx. 1 page) Synopsis with a Detailed Treatment
WITH SCRIPT:
• A longer (2-3 page) Synopsis outlining the full story
with a Script Sample (20-30 pages only)
• Short character descriptions including character arcs
• Writer/Director/Producer Notes
• Development Budget (The Screen Ireland budget template must be used)
• Evidence of Ownership of Rights

This budget template should be completed to match the amount of funding requested from Screen Ireland.
Directors Retainer: Only applicable if there is a Director attached to the project at application stage. Not applicable for projects where the Writer is also the Director.
Script Editors Fees: Internal Script Editors and company development personnel are allowable subject to the strict approval of Screen Ireland.
Legal Accounting Costs: Maximum request of €1,500 per funding stage. For projects awarded over €15,000 in funding, an Accountants Audit Certificate will be required at the time of delivery, the cost of procuring this cert should be included in Legal Accounting cost line item.
Producers Fee: A fixed amount of €2,500 at the first stage of funding and €1,500 per stage thereafter is available for Producers Fees..
Company Overhead: Screen Ireland allow 20% of direct script costs (writers fee plus external script editors fee) as overhead to be apportioned across in house costs such as personnel, business costs as determined by the Producer.

A stage is usually one draft of the screenplay.
The writer must be attached to the project to apply. For later stage development, costs for table reads and other development work can be included in the request. For early stage development the focus is on script work. If the team have any questions on the budget they will be in touch during the assessment process.
