NOTES WITH DRAFT
BUDGET
This is not the “5 people in 1 “ location version of the script. If theres a simpler way to do a scene, I’m all for it, I just didnt want to be too limiting on the first draft. There are lots of different locations but most of them are just the inside of cottages, which you could dress...or outside. The Kitchen/Living room would often be one area, I specify really only to specify where the camera is pointing. Take a look at these for locations: also known Father McDyer's Folk Village. UNUSUAL THINGS
It's VERY dark. Even for a horror. I tried to write the short version of this, I overshot, in that it’s too short. I use scene headings at the end of sluglines, I find actors prefer this. Although I need to think of better names. “Bad” grammar is Hiberno English. (Although my spelling is bad!) MISC
Some of the lines I got from court transcripts feel a little stagey. Also sometimes theres an event that may not feel right that I have included because it happened. Mick moves into Bridgets house, I call it BOLANDS throughout to avoid confusion. We will use make up to make Bridget not look herself...I have a version with helpful production notes.
MORALITY
by humanizing them are we justifying the violence?...no.
Showing bad people doing bad things, is neither interesting nor formative nor real.
“Oh I’m not evil so I couldnt do that”
There are too may films operating in the moral black and white...”slavery is bad”..if you look at 12 years a slave...some of the slave owners arent classically evil.
But if we show you the nuance, the human, bring you in, ask what would you do, well then perhaps we can learn something.
SUPERNATURAL ELEMENTS
I people to interpret somethings as supernatural however from my perspective the supernatural elements attempt to show a world the way the characters see it. I am not saying, “she was a changeling, so what happened was ok
