We aim to market this as a horror film for two reasons:
1. The story is horrific.
2. Films at this budget can do well at the box office without the need for big name actors.
We want a theatrical release, aiming our production budget on putting drama and spectacle on the big screen. The range of characters are there, if we can bring them to life we can go beyond a standard horror audience and get into profit.
This is so much more than a standrad horror film and with the right script, we can attach a great cast. Themes such as: domestic abuse; trust; betrayal; love; family; class and religion are already present in the history, we just need to do justice to the story. These themes can engage a festival audience. Are aims then, are unashamedly ambitious, we want to build excitement from the festival circuit up. We want to make a thought provoking film, a film that says something, not just about who we were but about who we are.
