Assign account owners

Use Coda to slice your account data, define territories, and re-balance portfolios. Once you assign an account to a new owner, you can use the Salesforce Pack to update the account owner in Salesforce.
This page shows an example workflow to push new account owner assignments from a Coda doc to Salesforce. The button in the below table uses the UpdateRecords formula to update an existing Salesforce record (in this case, the Account Record).

How to set this up:

First, sync the existing records to your Coda doc. In this example, I first synced Account records from Salesforce to Coda. A similar workflow would work for leads or contacts tables. I also synced the Salesforce Users report so I could have a list of all new account owners. The user report contains all individuals at my organization that could potentially be assigned a new account, along with their User ID. The User ID of the new Account Owner is needed for assignment.
After you sync the Accounts table from Salesforce, add a few columns:
1) New Account Owner (recommended lookup to user table)
2) User ID for the new Account Owner (recommended lookup to user table)
3) Updated in Salesforce: This can either be a checkbox or a select list as in this example). The purpose is to track when records are updated for easy filtering and to disable the Salesforce button once the assignment is pushed to Salesforce.

Salesforce User Report

TIP: Find the Salesforce exact column names in the formula builder. It takes 3-8 seconds to populate the list. Select the Salesforce field name and Coda’s formula builder inserts the column ID for you.
